If, at a later date, you manage to locate a more full-featured driver for your machine, rather than uninstall and re-installing, you can go into your browser and enter 'localhost:631'. You should have less trouble than I did, since the generic drivers seem to be more easily accepted by the system than the dedicated ones, for some daft reason. (Remember, I'm rusty on this.) However you find it, once it's opened, click on the big 'plus' sign (!), and the rest of the procedure is pretty straight-forward just follow the prompts. When it's installed, I think you want 'System' in the main Menu, to bring up the Printer install utility. deb ems much more efficient at pulling in the dependencies ( and there's a LOT with Epson drivers, trust me!) After installing it, right-click the item in your Downloads directory, and choose 'Install with gDebi'.and let it do its thing. ![]() Locate the driver in your Downloads directory, then, if you don't already have it, I would advise installing gDebi from the Software Centre it's way better than the standard setup for installing standalone. AFAIK, there is no terminal work needed to install an Epson driver in the 'buntus I'm not certain where you got that from!
